Adaptec SCSI Driver fails to start on Toshiba Satellite 1115-S103 with O2Micro OZ6933/711E1 CardBus Adapter
Description: The Adaptec ASPI8DOS.SYS driver fails start or hangs during initialization.
Explanation: The PCI-2-PCI Bridge used in this system (82801BAM I/O Controller Hub 2 Mobile (ICH2-M) Hub Interface to PCI Bridge) apparently provides positive decoding of I/O cycles. Therefore, the I/O address for APA-1480 card should be configured inside of I/O filter of the bridge. Since bridge I/O filter is set to 0x4000-0x4FFF and range 0x4000-0x40FF is in use by built-in Realtek Fast Ethernet Adapter, you should configure the I/O address for APA-1480 card to e.g. 0x4100.

After above described reconfiguration it was found that several versions of Adaptec ASPI8DOS.SYS driver fail to load because of insufficient stack. The only solution is to use our CB1480 enabler version 3.10 or later with build-in ASPI Manager instead of Adaptec ASPI8DOS.SYS driver.

Solution: Set the I/O address for APA-1480 card to 0x4100:

DEVICE=CB1480.EXE /IO:0x4100

Use CB1480 enabler version 3.10 or later with build-in ASPI Manager. Do not use Adaptec ASPI8DOS.SYS driver.
